The LifeSpring Story

LifeSpring Community Church began as a group of students at Goshen College back in the late 1970’s. Those students had one thing in common; they were hungry to know and experience God. They began to meet regularly as a small group, often going late into the night reading the Bible together, praying for each other and sharing their lives together. (Yes, they did manage to successfully graduate as well!) Soon, other students looking for the same thing - a deeper experience with God - began to join the group. The group eventually formed into a recognized local church under the Church of the Brethren and Mennonite Church denominations as folks from the surrounding community were also added.

One evening during their initial year as a small group, they received what amounted to a collective vision now known as “The Barn Vision”. In the vision, empty, broken wagons were being rolled into one end of a barn. At the other end, wagons rolled out repaired and brimming over with grain to be distributed. There were many wagons rolling in and many wagons rolling out. The train of wagons seemed endless. That vision began to shape LifeSpring’s sense of corporate mission: to welcome people into a community where life change happens because of Jesus' presence and power at work in our lives, and to help people find and live out their unique call and purpose in the world as a follower of Jesus Christ.

Currently, LifeSpring consists of people from many different backgrounds, ages, and walks of life.  Together, we are one because of Jesus!  And no matter who you are or where you've been, you matter to God and you matter to us.

Our vision continues to be to help people know the life changing reality of Jesus Christ, both locally and globally.  If you are looking for a community that walks together on the journey of life, that will help you to grow in love for God and others, and discover and live out your purpose, we believe you'll find a good fit at LifeSpring.
